Not so long ago, one had to wait several weeks until a letter arrived from one continent to another. Those written texts were either the fruit of a time of reflection, the result of nostalgia or simply of a will to share. Those personal pieces were sent away to travel on their own to be received with eagerness by their addressees.  They offered a chance to meet the other but also to travel, for those that stayed home. Nowadays with all the online possibilities, everything goes fast. Sharing our realities is only a click away. Handwritten letters give way to instant chatting from one side of the world to the other. Even if some “romantic minds” may regret the precious maturation time that those former traditional letters were impregnated with before reaching the hands of their recipients.

Thanks to our 2 filmmaker crews and their unique perspectives, we discovered several aspects of 2 separation walls, but most importantly we saw the human realities literally hanging from those walls. We hope those wall stories encountered some resonances in you. For the last movie, we decided to impose our crews a topic that would make them look even closer. They had to write a letter to the other wall, meant to be a shared moment of reflection. The goal is to make these separations meet and be connected...
